Who's Behind CalcBuddy?

Just a guy from Canada with a love of numbers and a genuine curiosity for how things work. No team, no venture capital, no corporate agenda. CalcBuddy is a one-person project built in spare moments between everything else life throws at you.

I've always been drawn to the way numbers relate to each other; how a small change in an interest rate ripples through 30 years of payments, how a few extra calories a day quietly compound over months, how the right unit conversion can make a recipe or a blueprint suddenly make sense. Numbers tell stories if you know how to ask them the right questions.

I am also a lifelong learner. Every calculator I build teaches me something new; about the math, how people make decisions, and about what information actually matters when you are standing at a crossroads. That learning loop is part of why I keep building.

Why Is It All Free?

Because at some point I was the person sitting at a kitchen table, nervous about a big decision, and what I needed was a straight answer, not a sales funnel.

Every calculator on CalcBuddy is free, requires no account, and contains no paywalled results. The site is supported by minimal unobtrusive ads, which keep the lights on without getting in the way. That's the deal, you get a genuinely useful tool, I get to keep building them.

There are no dark patterns here. No fake "your results are ready, sign up to see them." No countdown timers designed to create anxiety. Just the tool, the answer, and the door back out if you don't need anything else.

What's Coming Next?

More tools. Many more.

CalcBuddy started with a handful of calculators and has grown steadily into something much bigger. The goal has always been the same: cover every common calculation a real person faces in a real day: finances, health, home, work, and everything in between.

I am also building tools beyond calculators. Things that help you understand a number, not just produce one. When they're ready, I'll link them here. There is a lot more to build.

If there's a calculator you wish existed, send me a message. I read every one.
